This beautiful porcelain gaiwan was created by Yasuhiro Cuze, a Japanese ceramic artist based in Berlin. Each piece is handmade, which gives subtle variations to the shape and pattern of every vessel. The outer clay is left raw, with a clear glaze applied to the interior. The Helix pattern was created using a tool called a tobikanna, which is applied to the surface when the object is on the wheel and the blade carves the design into the object.
