As we reach year's end, we wanted to share two winter drink recipes to help you feel your best going into 2024. For celebration, a delicious, non-alcoholic aperitif worthy of a New Year's Eve toast. And for restoration, a simple, nourishing sipping broth with anti-inflammatory benefits. Read below for the recipes. We hope you prepare them, and consume with pleasure.
Sparkling Tea Aperitif
1T Serenitas Botanical Infusion or Emperor's Flower Oolong Tea 1/2 C Water Sparkling Water Honey (optional) Orange Blossom Water (optional)
Bring 1/2 C water to a boil in a small saucepan, add tea, turn off heat and steep for 5 minutes. Add honey and a splash of orange blossom water if desired (this adds a touch of sweetness and complexity that makes the drink feel more like a N/A cocktail). Strain the tea concentrate and chill. Once cold, add equal parts tea concentrate and sparkling water into your cup of choice. Garnish with meyer lemon peel. Enjoy!
Restorative Turmeric Broth
2 C Chicken, Beef, or Vegetable Broth 2 tsp Turmeric Wellness tea Spoonful of Ghee (optional) Salt to taste
In a small saucepan warm broth to a simmer. Reduce heat to low, add tea and steep for 10 minutes. Strain broth into a mug or bowl. Add ghee (optional) and salt to taste. You can make this heartier by adding swiss chard leaves, rice, or a poached egg to the hot broth.
