Dreamt out of our newly launched interview series, Medicine Bag, these hand woven bags were created to collect flowers and herbs, and hold your most treasured items. Anna Fiedler, a Melbourne based multidisciplinary artist, works predominantly in weaving and painting and is the one who brought this vision to life. Applying paint on yearn before weaving, Anna's paintings and objects remove the bourdanies of traditional craft making, interlacing materials and themes from past and present. We were drawn to Anna's work the moment we discovered her and are thrilled she agreed to collaborate. This bag is a treasure unto itself. A treasure to hold treasures. Limited quantity now available on our site.

"If it is a human thing to do to put something you want, because it is useful, edible or beautiful, into a bag, or a basket, or a bit of rolled bark or leaf, or a net woven of your own hair, or waht have you, and then take it home with you, home being another, larger kind of pouch or bag, a container for people, and then later on you take it out and eat it or share it or store it up for winter in a soldier container or put it in the medicine bundle or the shrine or the museum, the holy place, the area that contains what is sacred, and then the next day you probably do much of the same again - if to do that is human, if that's what it takes, then I am human after all."
